NIKKOR Z lenses. Faster. Quieter. Sharper. The ultra-wide Nikon Z mount enables compact lenses that can take in more light across the entire frame. Stills or movies, bright is brighter, depth is deeper, and sharpness is all the way to the edge.
The Z series mirrorless system, built around the incredible Z mount, was designed to continuously evolve to keep pace with future advancements in the imaging technology.
A new dimension in optical performance.
The astounding resolution of S-Line lenses provides incredibly sharp and accurate texture reproduction without colour fringing and artefacts.
Point light sources in night photography tend to fan out and become unnatural. S-Line lenses are designed to reproduce point light sources more accurately for natural looking shots and improved bokeh characteristics.
Beautifully blurred backgrounds naturally direct your viewer's eyes to the main subject. The nine rounded aperture blades of S-Line lenses give defocused points of light a soft, round consistent shape.
Focus breathing is a slight shift in the lens's viewing angle that can occur when adjusting focus. This effect can sometimes be jarring, especially during video shooting. S-Line lenses all but eliminate focus breathing for a consistent composition as you shift focus.
Extensively sealed to keep dust and moisture out, especially around all moving parts of the lens barrel, for worry-free durability.
S-Line lens build quality is second to none and rigorously tested to ensure high performance and uniform precision. Whichever S-Line model you may choose, you can absolutely trust its reliability.
Besides S-Line lenses, Nikon also offers a more affordable gateway into the ever-growing NIKKOR Z line-up while still retaining all the advantages of the monumental Z mount and adhering to NIKKOR's exceptionally high image quality standards.
NIKKOR Z lenses other than S-Line lenses feature the same large-diameter Z mount as their S-Line counterparts. More light, exceptional resolution and clarity throughout the entire frame.
High quality NIKKOR Z lenses without the S-Line classification offer an even more compact and lightweight barrel design, making them convenient inclusion to your bag.
This is just the beginning. The family of NIKKOR Z lenses is set to expand.
NIKKOR Z lenses are born from over 80 years of expert optical manufacturing and innovation and utilize some of Nikon's most advanced lens technologies.
An anti-reflective coating developed by Nikon and used in conjunction with Nano Crystal Coat to further reduce ghost and flair effects caused by incident light entering the lens vertically. This allows for the outstandingly clear capture of images even when a light source is located within the frame.
An anti-reflective coating developed by Nikon that virtually eliminates internal lens element reflections across a wide range of wavelengths. Nano Crystal Coat solves ghost effects caused by red light and effectively reduces ghost and flare caused by light entering the lens diagonally.
Photographers need gear that can withstand the elements. Available in some S-Line lenses, Nikon's Fluorine Coat repels dust, water droplets, grease and dirt, ensuring easy removal even when they adhere to the lens surface. Its anti-reflective effect also contributes to the capture of clear images.
Aspherical lenses have a curved, non-spherical surface to minimize coma and other types of lens aberrations, even when used at the widest aperture. They are particularly useful in correcting distortion in wide-angle lenses and help contribute to a lighter, more compact design by reducing the number of standard (spherical) elements necessary.
This specialised glass is able to better focus the entire spectrum of colour, nearly eliminating chromatic aberrations that occur in ordinary glass lenses. ED glass lenses produce remarkably sharp, high contrast images even with fast lenses at maximum aperture.
Every NIKKOR Z lens delivers incredibly precise focusing accuracy, crucial for the maximised resolving power of Z series.
The rounded aperture blades of NIKKOR Z lenses give defocused points of light a soft, round consistent shape. Plus, the transition from tack-sharp foreground to dreamy background is smooth and natural.
An electromagnetic diaphragm mechanism in the lens barrel provides highly accurate electronic diaphragm or aperture blade control when using auto exposure during high-speed continuous shooting.
The wide, knurled control ring allows exact, intuitive operation. When shooting in AF mode, you can assign exposure-compensation settings to the control ring. When shooting in Manual Focus, the control ring can be used as a focus ring. Focus shifts according to how quickly or slowly you turn the ring, making precision work and filming close-ups easier.
Simply by rotating a focus ring, M/A (Manual-priority Auto) mode allows you to switch from autofocus to manual with virtually no time lag. This makes it possible to seamlessly switch to fine manual focusing while looking through the viewfinder.
Extensively sealed to keep dust and moisture out, especially around all moving parts of the lens barrel, for worry-free durability.
An OLED information display panel lets you quickly confirm aperture, focus distance, exact focal length, and depth of field right on the lens.
The button-free retractable-lens mechanism used on zoom lenses is quick and easy to use, and ensures lenses take up minimal space when not in use. You simply extend or retract the lens by rotating the zoom ring.
Make the most of your NIKKOR Z lens with dedicated accessories. From filters to correct and enhance light to teleconverters that extend the reach of telephoto lenses.
Want to extend your reach without carrying a second lens? Nikon Z teleconverters are an easy way to get more reach from compatible NIKKOR Z lens, and they blend seamlessly with the look of your camera. Simply attach to your camera’s Z mount before attaching your lens.
Protect your lens. Enhance your images. Nikon’s lens filters will help you create at the next level. Whether you’re emphasizing dramatic skies with a polarizing filter, or controlling ghosting and flare with a neutral colour filter.
